Reading. Read more... )

Next up: I've hit the front of the hold queue for the digital version of The Gifts of Imperfection, very nearly (again), which is Brené Brown's first book. (The first time I hit the top of the holds queue I was reading something else I was enjoying and just clearly wasn't going to get to it before time was up.) I've been vaguely attempting to alternate ebook & hardcopy, or library & already-owned, but the vagaries of the hold system are what they are, so this it shall be.

Followed, probably, by The Book of Dust: The Secret Commonwealth, Philip Pullman, because I now own a copy (thank you [personal profile] cesy!) and would like to know what all happens.

Watching. Looooots more She-Ra. Spoilers up to the first couple of episodes of season 4. )

Cooking. Tiramisu for Adam's birthday; some more Plausible Bread (maybe I'm getting the hang of it?); best yoghurt yet, for reasons I'm not entirely clear on but am very happy about.

Making & mending. KNITTING. There is guilt-knitting that is ALMOST DONE, perhaps, depending on whether I think it works (& whether the recipient thinks it works). But if they do -- I have 10 stitches to graft, and a little light blocking to do, and then it's all over bar the package and posting. (If I decide it looks crap I'll be redoing the border, but hey, that's achievable.)

Also: computer wrangle, A Work In Progress.

Growing. Oooh! Broad beans (Aquadulce :ongpod): in cardboard tubes, hopefully going to germinate, let's see if I have screwed this up (I have spares if so). Passiflora edulis: scarified and soaking in orange juice in the warm plant box. Topsetting onions and Augusta onions (first batch): in the bathroom. Job for tomorrow: work out how I want to organise getting the various peppers started (also in the warm box) and then Do That, along with getting the Passiflora into compost.

I also made it! to the plot! under my own steam! and fed the bin, and did some more weeding (allium, fennel, top foot of the ground-level bed). I am feeling Good about plants at the moment.

Playing. Portal various. )

Horn: worked my way up to all of the Farkas legato warm-up (it is taking me Longer Than Ten Minutes and I'm still very much working on accuracy) plus a couple of half-arsed Kopprasch études as A Day's Practice if I actually mange to sit down and do the thing. Observations, already known: gosh I improve rapidly from that degree of out-of-practice given at least a little playing every day, and: it really does work much better if I play at least one note every day, like, make "okay one note" the thing I gotta do to count myself as Having Practised... leads to many more much longer and more competent practice sessions. It's nice! I'm enjoying myself.
