Thoughts on SuperBetter
Feb. 6th, 2013 12:46 amAs well as prompting me to do regular physio, drink enough water, etc? I've realised that "make something" is an awesome power-up for me to stick in SuperBetter. I do feel calmer when I've made something. Here is a list of things I can make or do relatively easily:
I know you all make stuff. I'd love to hear what - please have at it in comments! Nothing is too small, and everything counts. <3
- flapjack or chocolate chip cookies (which in addition to being relatively quick and easy mean that I have Guaranteed Snacks for the next day!)
- write some code
- bread (with the breadmaker, yes, but I still make decisions about what should be in there - tonight's is walnut and rosemary - and actually I'm not very interested in undermining myself by claiming that using tools to reduce pain "doesn't count", so that bit of my brain can shut up, hi everyone I'm back from that little bit now)
- a couplet (or more!) of poetry
- a sentence (or more!) of one of the unfinished fics I have cluttering up my hard drive
- a row (or more!) of knitting
- an essay (or blog post or article!) on one of the many topics I've got lined up
- a pattern for a craft design (for example, working out a knitting pattern e.g. the the Pabu hat I am plotting vaguely)
- a recipe for future experimentation (e.g. for the ridiculous pie-in-the-sky conFusion restaurant, the concept of "three cabbages" - red cabbage with clove and apple, kimchi, and idek choi sum with ginger and sesame, or an actually-tasty coleslaw, or something: need to work out flavour balances!)
- music: singing or writing or playing
