(TO BE FAIR this is something I have previously done under Ubuntu, albeit with moar hand-holding; AND ADMITTEDLY it was probably overkill, but ALL THE SAME)

Unfortunately it turns out the documents I was after aren't actually made available to students, which is, I think, nature's way of telling me that it's long gone bedtime...

Unix ftp is for wimps. Real programmers open the source folder in Internet explorer and transfer the files in a single confident movement of the mouse...
