some good things.
Mar. 6th, 2025 11:59 pm- I have bike-sized spare inner tubes in stock.* This was not something present-me considered a given, but nonetheless I checked the place they'd be if I did have any, and there they were. Thank you, past-me.
- Poking desultorily at the latest recipes added to Eat Your Books that meet my criteria (no meat! no poultry! no game! no fish! no seafood! achievements of the day include pointing out that "imitation crab" is not vegetarian!) yielded inspiration for What On Earth To Do with the leftover end of a tub of cream and half a tub of cream cheese: Japanese soufflé cheesecake with yuzu caramel sauce. I am not sure I will make it again but Sense Of Technical Accomplishment (in spite of today's utter inability to make a convincing wet caramel, what the fuck) v welcome and I'm enjoying it even if A is a bit dubious.
- Kitchen remarkably unwrecked given the amount of mood management I've been doing in there. (A very helpful and indulgent with getting the dishwasher going when he emerged from work; second load is going now.)
- Kashmiri chilli hatching!
- Did not lose one of my Lioness pendants in an upsettingly silly way. (It got tangled in a mask; I put the mask in my pocket to go out; it untangled itself again when I got it out to put on waiting to cross the road to the shop. Traffic was sufficiently heavy that I wound up looking around while waiting for a clear spot, and had the Distinctive experience of thinking, simultaneously, that's the shape of my one pendant-- and there's no way it could possibly be-- and having to work really quite hard to override the second impulse and look more closely!)
- I have done a fair bit of cat-herding for Admin: the LRP purposes over the last few weeks, culminating in a meeting last night where People Tell Each Other What's Changing. There have been productive ongoing discussions today (one of which I was directly party to, some of which I am merely aware of) arising. Social anxiety absolutely trying to eat my brain over... everything... at the moment, so clear evidence of this having been Productive and Useful is very welcome.
- Had not yet disposed of The Broken Glass Box, so when I broke yet more glass we could just add it to the pre-existing.
- It is so nice to have physio that (mostly) feels good. (I am getting to today's physio extremely late, but my legs and feet are being Extremely Clear about how much they appreciate it happening.)
- I am really appreciating RealSeeds having put together a printable sowing and harvest guide to go with their monthly sowing guide. Next step after bike wrangle: get some carrots going in between the garlic, probably.
- Several satisfying variants on clicky game today. (I Love Hue The Dream/Sleepwalker/20, which I had a great deal of fun filling from the central greys out; FR Shock Switch, where I finally achieved a score of over 1,000,000, could comfortably have kept going, and ended it because I had now Satisfied Honour in terms of the achievement...)
* Today's Main Jobs were supposed to be Change The Inner and Do My February Reflections. Instead I have had a bad brain day.
The eternal question
Date: 2025-03-07 12:07 am (UTC)is a bad brain day better than a no brain day?
