Reading. FINISHED I CONTAIN MULTITUDES. Overall extremely interesting, and engaging and well written and so on and so forth; content notes for abysmal attitudes to body size and autism. Some of these things are not, in fact, like bleached coral reefs!!! But I definitely preferred An Immense World by a significant margin.

Have started Decoding the Heavens, Jo Marchant, on the Antikythera mechanism. So far extremely dubious about (1) the author bio beginning "... is Opinion Editor at New Scientist magazine" and (2) the fact that the prologue includes "Since 1901 a number of men have devoted their lives to solving the mechanism..." because, like, even in 2008 surely it was not the case that Every Notable Researcher who'd dedicated time to the damn thing was male?????

Listening. More Hidden Almanac!

Playing. A finished the story-line of Tactical Breach Wizards (possibly the solution to my desire to know all the concluding Happily(ish) Ever Afters is in fact to just get the internet to tell me...) and is currently deep in the completionism mines...

Cooking. A Meera Sodha tomato curry, which we are having with a big pile of her winter pilau + aubergine and pea (which I tragically burnt) + roast pumpkin + SPECIAL TREAT FOR ALEX BITTER GOURD. All with fresh curry leaves, because I happened to be somewhere that was selling them (this being also the source of the bitter gourd), and I was Very Excited.

Eating. Not Yet the custard apple, but maybe soon? Bundobust takeaway. Pizza Express takeaway, in the car, on a garage forecourt, most of the way home. Really good panettone.

Exploring. Bold Street (Liverpool), briefly, including Matta's. Barking Park, also fairly briefly, with lots of excellent leaves and waterfowl. Upton Meadow Millenium Wood (with POND).

Making & mending. Spent a bit of time very carefully squishing one of my gold nib fountain pens -- it was mildly abused at an event last year (and I have the tiny teal tattoo to show for it) and it's been writing wetter than I'd like ever since. Until yesterday! When I appear to have managed to sort it out! Hurrah!

Observing. A jay, on a trip to the pharmacy!

That tomato curry is really good, but it stripped the seasoning from my cast iron pan! Next time I'm making it in the enameled skillet.
