Since you are to honor the Dead, I thought I'd offer you a copy of my book. I sell the dead tree version on Amazon, but I give away the ebooks all over. It's called A Litany for the Many Dead, and it's a series of verses, each honoring a different group of the Dead. Some of them are based on their relationships, some on what they were or did in life, some on how they died. Some people like to choose verses to honor specific Dead of theirs. You might like it, or you might not. I dunno. But both epub and pdf can be found here.

Anybody else is welcome to it, too, and anybody is welcome to give it away to others. It's creative commons licensed specifically to give that permission.

Could you remember my Mom, Beverly? The second anniversary of her collapse is coming up, and our third year without her. I miss her so much, and I'd be honored, too, if you lit a candle for her.

Thank you for the offer. I would ask you you to remember my uncle A who died just under a year ago, but that doing so would be against his wishes as I understand them. He was vehemently atheist and very strongly Did Not Get other people's sentimentality.

When I saw my father a fortnight ago, he was wearing A's striped jumper, the one he asked my father to take to the op shop to donate when he went into the nursing home. My father stole it and concealed this from A for the rest of his life, because A would not have been willing to give the jumper to his brother instead of the op shop. It's his favourite jumper now.

My grandmother, Heather, died many years ago. She was proud and glamorous, she loved fast cars, she had a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, she outlived three husbands, and I only knew her towards the end of her life when her dementia was affecting her a lot.
