Over the course of the morning I was repeatedly perplexed by a robin apparently trying to fly in through the window above the kitchen sink. Which was closed. Like, it would spend a bit of time scuffling sadly, and then it would take a break on the fence post while Staring, and then it would return to scuffling. Occasionally it would vanish for a bit before coming back. I even went outside to hang out by the window to see if that would scare it off, to no avail (once I'd gone back inside).

Whereupon it gradually dawned on me that it was focussing, consistently, on one particular relatively small patch of window.

The patch of window, in point of fact, just above the bannetons.

... and when I removed them to the kitchen counter, away from the window, the robin Ceased and also Desisted.

... so I am forced to conclude that it was an inept teenager who Knew What Home Looked Like. And I am slightly regretting not having Acquired A Pet...
