Reading. ... Dana K. White's How to manage your home... without losing your mind showed up from the library today, so technically about half a page of the introduction to that? (... okay, two and a half!)

Listening. ... I totally failed to mention last week that I actually managed to listen to Frank Turner's Undefeated, didn't I? Well, I did, and I had some feelings, some of which leaked. Hurrah for Managing The Thing.

Playing. We have now started Ori and the Blind Forest. Thus far I am glad we started with Will of the Wisps, and I think enjoying it more than I would have done if we hadn't.

Eating. A tiny handful of raspberries! A tiny handful of jostaberries! An even tinier handful of redcurrants!

Exploring. Attempted cycling up The Main Road Hill. Discovered, from that perspective, that actually it is much less scary than I had imagined it to be, and there are many more places cars can reasonably pass me than I had thought.

Growing. A has very gently shepherded me to the allotment twice this week. Not everything died. Direct-sown squash are (all!) hatching. (I will get more pumpkins starting them now than not starting them at all, is the idea.) Today I wrangled A Lot of bindweed (there is naturally More but, also, there is Less).

Observing. STAG BEETLE. A spotted it on our Stupid Little Walk yesterday evening! And had not previously met the males Flying so did a brilliant ??? !!! by which I was, obviously, delighted.

oh, huh, I suppose I could have included "happily scribbling away with fountain pens" under Writing: the situation being that I had written through most of a converter with my ridiculous clicky fountain pen at the event, and then had to my surprise managed to arrange trading the M (gold) nib unit for a (rhodium-plated) EF, so as I have a mild horror of Just Putting Ink Down The Sink I obviously (...) wrote about another page of A4 of Misc Nonsense for the sake of Writing It Dry.

I am mildly concerned that I will wind up with ink drying out in the pen with the EF nib unit, and I'm definitely feeling ridiculous Sad Anxiety about sending the M off to someone who'll appreciate it more, but the EF really REALLY is the sensible choice for the paper and circumstances where(upon) I'll be using the pen, so. Should arrive tomorrow. Aaaah.

(Most of the Misc Nonsense was thinking-on-paper about how I am simultaneously a bit But All Of My Fountain Pens Are Black And Boring??? and also But I Don't Actually Want Something Obtrusive. The former is Factually Incorrect, anyway -- the VP is blue and I've a TWSBI in teal -- and yet my brain goes ???. The solution simultaneously is and is not "something involving abalone shell" or "a hammered silver Montblanc"...)

If it helps, my EF pen is the one that I’ve *never* had dry out on me (including when I’ve misplaced it for long periods of time). I expect much of that is due to the Platinum Plaisir having a remarkably good cap seal, but still…

I keep thinking I should give Ori and the Blind Forest a go. I don't know much about it, but everyone seems enthusiastic, and it turns up in my recommendations frequently. Anything I should know? :D
