This journal ends up being a bit of a mix of Srs Business (rants; things I've learned from counselling; &c), fannish & scientific joy, linkspams, poetry, & misc life updates. I tag fairly compulsively, though not always helpfully; I use content notes; I have written up a cast of characters; I aim to maintain this as a safer space, and appreciate (but do not expect!) call-outs when I mess up.

I like it if you introduce yourself when you subscribe, but it's definitely not required. Probably 30% of this journal is access-locked; I give access very readily. Fanworks are always public; AO3 is the canonical place to find my list of works. I'm very happy for you to link to anything that's public, and I'll be even happier if you let me know you're doing it. :-)

I enqueued this on Tumblr quite a while ago, and then it apparently just popped out, and my little fish reblogged it off me, so I saw it on the rss feed on my reading list, and I thought: I think that kaberett might enjoy that thing.

Volcanoes are awesome though! I am a molluscan palaeontologist but I dabble in all rocks in general (and most kinds of squishy animal too).

Fannishly I mostly write endless ridiculous fic as a way to keep words flowing out of my brain so that science words are easier to write too. Words, words, all the words!

I keep feeling I should post something here as I have commented on your journal a few times. I read it regularly because I like your writing and what you write about. I found it via the reading list of a friend who was only ever really an acquaintance in my cambridge-geek days, and now that those seem distance - but she has an interesting reading list...
I.. am not sure what else constitutes an introduction. I never really log into dreamwidth. I post on my LJ occasionally - I aim at once a year. I like paper books and hills (among other things). I am learning French and German and enjoy your language posts.
