existential (crafting) question of the day

WHY has nobody uploaded to Ravelry a pattern for a shawl inspired by the Nicobar pigeon? Reference photo, plus many excellent birds. Am I going to have to design one myself??? that seems GROSSLY unfair.

Shaking the internet a bit harder disgorges this example but that's not quite the take I am after.

You may be on your own for a pattern, but at least one person has created a colorway based on the Nicobar pigeon. There are some other really pretty yarns on that site too, all inspired by birbs. The dyer is on hiatus currently, but should be back in action in December according to the website.
