But then. Today. Reddit happened.

Specifically.

This is the TACCIA Miyabi Empress Maki-e Honey Bee Limited Edition (where I'm linking to Goulet because they, unlike the actual TACCIA website, have actual photos of it.)

It has subsequently been pointed out to me that Fossils in the Sky also exists.

I don't actually want any of these pens! I've never tried using a Sailor King of Pen but everything I have read about them leaves me, at best, lukewarm! My whole entire soul rebels at the concept of an £850 cartridge/converter pen, which is what the KoP -- which these are based on -- is!

Oh goodness the bee pen is *gorgeous*. I think I might be afraid to use (drop/lose) it, but would love to pet it gently and stare at all the details. (Also amused that I went poking through the other designs and, yep, also went ‘ooh the peacock one is pretty too’ :p )

Idk about the aesthetics of the Great Court pen personally (though that review is great) but the Rosetta Stone Black otoh……

If I got to pick Just One I would I think faiiiirly unhesitatingly go for the Great Court because I love how it looks and I have a fondness for the actual BM's Great Court and just. everything about how it is made is a delight to me!!! but yes, had I infinite money etc etc etc the Rosetta Stone would also very much be something I wanted to give house room and display and so on and so forth...

I manage not to covet expensive pens by being a person who wants to post her pens, and you can't post most of the expensive ones.

That bee pen, though. Oh, my. Gorgeous.

I don't know if it would make things better or worse, but in one of the recent Goulet Pencasts they did a spotlight on two Taccia pens, including this one, where you can really see and admire the art.

One day I would like to go to a pen show and hold and admire some of these pens in person, but I have no desire to own one.

Those are very artistic pieces, and their associated costs would make me very leery of actually using them for anything. But oh, they're all pretty.
