[plague diaries] mrg
Oct. 24th, 2020 11:41 pmI think this is probably teetering on the edge of tipping into agoraphobia, now, so I'm making a note of it For My Records. So: yesterday was the first time I left the house at all in about a week (to the end of the road and back, for an Exciting New Pokémon Raid, because PoGo is in fact still serving useful purpose in Getting Me Out The Damn' House), and I think the only other times I've left the house in at least a fortnight and possibly about a month are... when I've got A to drive me over to the allotment (or for testing). I am not really managing making it to the allotment under my own steam, and a lot of that is "but there are people out there".
I know this is an expected-ish outcome, and I don't think it's currently A Problem as... such, but definitely if I get to post-PhD (& the start of next year's sowing season) and I'm still Not then I'm going to have to take some very deep breaths and Work On This, and. What if. Instead. I built a cave out of duvets and just lived in it forever.

Date: 2020-10-25 07:57 am (UTC)Just as a data point: I am being moderately cautious, but I am basically fine with things like passing people on the pavement outside, and doing that doesn't make me fearful or anxious about going outside. I do get avoidant about going outside because it is Effort, but not because I'm worried about there being people there.
Inside is a whole other ball of wax.
Hibernation is a good mammalian response to such things.

(Rural area. It helps a little.)
