I spent a significant chunk of today catching up with all the Miscellaneous that had showed up in my work e-mail since I last felt up to paying attention to it, amounting to approximately four hundred unread e-mails, none of which needed action from me but all of which I wanted to check--

-- to find this glorious frustration about how we talk about time elapsed linked to. I am charmed by the ratings. I have giggled a lot.

I am intruiged by "calibrated kiloyears before present." Calibrated... to or by what?

I have Reviewer 2 on the phone, apparently the preferred term is “four centi-unread emails”.

Even knowing why, I continue to be amused by "where present is 1950 AD."

LOLLLL my fave was "millennia" getting "okay" and then "millenia" getting "no".

That is a delightful paper, and seems like the sort of thing that everyone laughs at and then starts using, like "thagomizer".

I loved how it went increasingly ranty and incoherent as the page went on. Thank you for linking this.
