Today in therapy I talked about trying to fit meaningful self-care in around... everything, and whether hosting a love meme and an open house was *actually* a good idea for me. And I came to the conclusion that, yes: because it underscores and reinforces that people choose to be kind to one another, to look after one another, to seek to see the good, and it might be work but it's work that will reaffirm things I desperately need right now.
I'm not convinced about inherent goodness of people (sebastienne keeps reminding me, through the choices they make, to extend good faith more frequently) -- but I am convinced that people can choose goodness, and that there's a lot of space to build on in that potential.
