Cameron is ramping up the anti-welfare-state rhetoric.

I'm on 12 prescription medicines, of which about 10 get refilled on a monthly cycle. I'm upper-middle-class and I'm Cambridge-educated.

I've been turned down for Disability Living Allowance.

If prescription pre-payment certificates disappear; if all my access to any kind of benefits disappear; if workers' protections disappear -- I am going to be utterly, utterly shafted.

And I'm one of the lucky ones.

I am terrified.

Yes, because it's possible to fucking improve your health when you have a fucking degenerative disease. Fucking assholes.

We don't fucking expect the government to keep us in posh style. I mean, we aren't living on caviar and filet mignon in a fancy mansion. In fact, I don't fucking know how we're going to afford living on our own. But, jfc, it's not too much to ask for us to have a roof over our head and the medication we fucking need to survive and borderline-function.

The "choices you make" thing pisses me off, too. Excuse me? Who the fuck asks to become disabled? And we sure as fuck didn't choose to have a mental breakdown at 19 and get fibro at 21.

I'm really fucking tired of seeing governments shit on the poor and disabled and elderly. I'd really love to handwave these shitstains off the face of the earth.
