... Elementaperplexity

... okay, like, I can but hope that we're supposed at this point to be concluding that Sherlock is doing deeply unethical shit in an ends-justifies-the-means-ish sort of a way and it is an indicator of Something Being Off? Because he is. There was gaslighting the hell out of Joan's mother for Joan's sake; and now he's just (it's strongly implied) doxxed a black woman to Everyone in pursuit of his own goals, viz, not letting a murderer walk. Which.
And it's all tangled up in him loving Joan. And in him pointedly calling her Watson, and her pointedly calling him Holmes, and him apologising after the fact but trying in his own way to take care of her, and and and.
(And he stimmed, he really visibly and unambiguously stimmed because intense emotion, and then I had a feeling, okay.)
I mean. This show, right, this show has had the Julian Assange Is A Rapist episode. This show very neatly set up an Evil Bisexuals plotline and then went HAHAHAHA NOPE NOT ACTUALLY WHAT'S GOING ON. This show - in this episode! - pastiched Angry Birds gently but lovingly. This show is pro-fandom and pro-poly and pro-Lucy Liu and pro-calling Sherlock on his shit. And yet this season we've had The Creepy NYPD Solidarity Episode, the Misc Racism, and now this? They. They must know that it's at best morally ambiguous to sic Everyone on someone. They must know that's not okay. And we're heading for the end of the season, and I kind of just... really hope that this is actually supposed to be striking us as wrong, and I really hope we're actually building up to a season finale that involves both of them realising how wrong they've been going and getting their shit together, because at the moment I am Really Uncomfortable and I still adore them and I'd quite like said adoration to be a little less complicated, thanks.
