From the winter 2011 Goblin Fruit, Callisto at the Corner Coffee Shop and Snowmelt.

for those interested in (hah) book-keeping, I am currently at 15 full-length works (novels, epic poems, or poetry collections) by PoC, plus 36 short works (primarily from the specfic anthology Mothership) which I think approximate to ~2 full-length works (500 page anthology!).

Thank you so much for the poem "love me because". Being an introvert with an extrovert - it's so strange and makes me wonder sometimes how it's going to work but. But this. This is a reminder that it's fine to feel how I feel, and it's all working out.

This is totally off topic and my brain is so not braining (lately, but oh well), but does PoC include people like Asians and Hispanics, too?

Yeah. My understanding is that it's a disputed umbrella term (some people prefer "non-white"), but it covers, well, everyone who's not white.

I think of PoC as a "synthetic yet useful term based in a political understanding of oppressions groups share."

I find a helpful parallel in "people with disabilities," which includes Deaf, autistic, wheelchair users, mentally interesting, little people, people with non-evident impairments and chronic illnesses, among many others. I don't think any parent cradles their child and sings, "Oh! You're a little PoC like me!"
