... accidentally told my headphones to play wave noises at me

I had completely forgotten that there was even a button there, let alone remembering what it did, but suddenly waves and I swear my shoulders unknotted before I even realised what was happening.

Today's ultrasound proper went entirely smoothly and indeed was much less invasive than I'm used to and had been expecting; kidneys and bladder apparently look totally fine, as expected. Actually checking in for the appointment was... unexpectedly involved, with the computer apparently making it look at first blush as though I'd cancelled this appointment and requested one at the local hospital instead, rather than cancelling the one that was too soon at a hospital I've never previously been to and then, when I was given a new appointment at the hospital I had surgery at around three quarters of an hour's drive away, giving up on the basis that at least the Royal Free Proper would get me cake.

And indeed I had a pleasant lunch with A at an outdoor table, and have come home with lots of cake, and while I did also have a migraine the rescue drugs helped and I'm now curled up in bed with wave sounds I have no desire to turn off. Goodnight. <3
