Sep. 21st, 2021 10:33 pmOKAY. SO. As I've previously mentioned, I decided that I wanted to use a disc-binding system for my printout of my thesis (
), which I then followed up by -- having acquired the punch -- also getting More Discs (ditto).
Earlier this week, I abruptly realised that This Is The Solution To All My Problems With Recipes Torn Out Of Magazines (Etc)... so this afternoon I finished putting together a current academic CV (ish) (as a step toward fellowship application), and then settled in with A Guillotine and The Special Hole Punch and The Fancy Masking Tape and A Pile Of Loose Recipes Of Various Form Factors, and now! I have! a neat and tidy corralled stack!
... which has only the single minor downside that, er, it's completely impossible to organise sensibly, because e.g. quite a lot of individual pages have savoury recipes I'm interested in on one side and sweets on the other, which means I'm possibly about to trip and fall into setting up a Database Of Recipes as an obviously more sensible solution than attempting to create a hard-copy table of contents and/or index for today's craft project, but that at least is a problem for future Alex.
(Bonus: A ordered fresh figs and Waitrose substituted passion fruit, presumably on the basis that they're both sort of Round and Purple and ~Exotic~, and one of the recipes I was herding today? is for a self-saucing passion fruit pudding with cardamom yoghurt. from the Waitrose 2021 calendar, but not dissimilar to this recipe but with almond instead of coconut and ground cardamom with yoghurt and less milk, which I had completely forgotten existed and am now very keen to make...)
