Poetry: Samuel Beckett's Neither, in parallel translation; the German is beautiful. Sprachlospuzzel is available auf Deutsch only; I'm not going to translate it at 1 a.m. but might be persuadable tomorrow. (But I have thought about translating it, and - I don't know how, I am not a translator, I stare at "essen koerpern fressen hungern kotzen" and have no idea how I'd rewrite it but keep the rhythm and the meaning.)

Libraries: Ex Urbe brings us The Scariest Library, which is long, but which had me howling with laughter at several points. Relatedly, if you are a Good Omens fan and you haven't come across A Brief History of Dead Trees, I strongly recommend it.

Body modification: 2500 year old tattoos, gloriously detailed. [Content note: photographs of mummified body.] And because tumblr is kind to me, this beautiful neckpiece.

Yorkshire this year has a Dalek Maize Maze. You're welcome.

Here is some cool research on algal blooms and ocean productivity.

As per previous, my baby brother is part of a team fundraising for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

This Saturday, the EAAA is holding a Family Fun Day at MMM, with half-price tickets. (Plus my baby brother & co will be there as their guests -- because they are currently EAAA's best fundraisers.)

And because it bears saying again (and again, and again, and again): I cannot even with how proud I am of my kid sibling. ♥
