Mmm. I get the impression the rule of thumb is that there are three categories of acceptable behaviour under the warranty:
Anything within spec
Any genuine accident
Anything done by journalists
Given the only way I've ever seen of breaking anything other than the glass on those things involved firearms, I'm guessing they just send her a new handset, replace the glass in her old one and move on.
