In My Ridiculous Pen Collection, I have a Lamy 2000 (largely inspired by Ant Newman of UKFountainPens waxing lyrical). I got it second hand, as with all but one of my pens; the one that showed up cheap came with an F nib.
But it's a Western F. Other nibs I have: Pilot EF, sEF, and a Jose Manuera ridiculous flexy thing modified from an F; Platinum UEF; TWSBI 1.1 mm stub. Plus a Western EF and then (most recently, in a moment of weakness) a Pelikan F, which on the one hand is Western and on the other is Pelikan and therefore runs very broad. All of which is to say: I have tiny handwriting and I have a general preference for tiny nibs (the TWSBI gets used for headings and cards!).
I got a loose EF nib for it a while ago, courtesy of r/Pen_Swap, which I have thus far singularly failed to swap in.
... and then I realised that I still don't actually particularly like the body of the Platinum I have, and I might prefer to not have the pen I am using for most of my writing be a screw-cap, and the London Pen Show is this weekend coming, and... I could swap in that EF nib and then get it ground down to a UEF. And have that be the pen I use most. And it would probably cost less (both monetarily and in terms of executive function) and be more satisfactory than the various options I've been contemplating for transplanting the Platinum UEF into a body I like better. So maybe I'll just... do that. That might be nice.
Yes ...
