Today's post brought me a 13l double-ended drybag, because I have been annoyed for some time about the amount of executive function required to shower while In A Field, and I wished to engage in Retail Therapy, and I think this might actually solve some of my problems?

General concept: clean clothes go in one side, towel on top. Trudge to shower block. Dirty clothes/laundry go in other side. SHOWER. Towel!!! Once dry: clean clothes! Damp towel into now-empty side that contained clean clothes, because the laundry super does not want to get unnecessarily damp. OFF TO BED.

We will see how it works in practice? But I wavered for a day or so and then decided fuckit, I Wanted To Buy A Thing and this was both A Thing I Could Buy and plausibly actually useful. I'm slightly *facehands* about the part where it's gonna be about six months before I can actually test it in anger, but hey. And, y'never know, maybe some of you will go "... I did not know I needed this thing in my life but I need this thing"...

As I am currently on a camping trip (in New England in November because goddamn if I haven't absorbed by osmosis the local Puritan beliefs about self-denial of comforts like warmth and beds that don't leave bruises on one's hips) yes this is Very Relevant to My Interests thank you very much!! I've been foregoing showers because I can't figure out how to not get everything damp.

Ooo, that sounds so useful. I don't currently think one of them has a big place in my life, but then we don't travel that much right now...

OMG, actual genius. Showering at Guide camp is haaaaard, especially as it’s the first thing I do on waking for pain management reasons, so I’m not even caffeinated at that time.

Yes please! (Any particular Alpkit?).

That would have been very useful for all those trips my ex took me on with variable bathing facilities.

And in my dormitory at university as well.

Accidentally reading this in a too-small font, for a moment my visual cortex would have sworn it was a "double-entendre drybag".

That is a very clever idea, I might get one.
