small delights

1. Big vat of vegetable soup. Gently toasted cheese scone. Leftover garlic butter from last night's takeaway.
2. Apparently I managed to not pass COVID on to any of the people I was Particularly Concerned About.
3. I have new fleece-lined fingerless gloves. They come up to the last joint on my little finger. They do not solve the issue of Cold Fingertips but my goodness having Rest Of Hand: Warm plus Manual Dexterity is a good. Very pleased they are working out the way I had hoped. Also they have teal cuffs and snails on. (And are particularly welcome because our boiler currently isn't...)
4. Big glass jars! Clip-top. Into which I fitted the vast majority of the dried apple currently in the house, which I had been afraid might mostly not fit -- I'm pretty sure the flavour is better after long-term (several month) storage in glass than in plastic and I am Excited to have made the switch. (Possibly want another one or two? But basically sorted at least for the amount of apples I managed to process this year.)
5. Lengthy impromptu impassioned conversation about DRAINAGE and LOCAL COMMUNITIES and such, which was lovely and involved lots (lots) of giggling. Very soothing and pleasant.

Gloves sound excellent, are they polyester fleece or wool fleece or...? Do you have a link?

Polyester fleece, and ALAS they're entirely organised via FB I think, but I will double check that...

Polyester fleece is sometimes a sensory nope for me, so please don't make it a huge priority.

Re Cold Fingertips, are you familiar with "glittens"? They're like if fingerless gloves were a hoodie. If you can get past having the mitten part flapping on the back of your hand while not in use, I highly recommend them. I love mine. There are patterns for them in the usual locations.

I had homemade cheese and plain scones over the weekend, absolutely incredible. And yessss soup season!

oh yes i have a chenille pair that serves that purpose! excellent! but mine do not have snails i admit.
