embodiment is still a terrible hobby
Jun. 1st, 2024 11:59 pmI am experiencing something that might be a systemic inflammation flare sort of a situation, or might be knock-on effects of compensating for an ankle that's decide to be dodgy, or most likely both.
Some things that are not terrible:
- The internet pointing me towards more potential notebooks, in the form of Bindewerk. (They're not as close to my platonic ideal as the ones I'm currently using, but the paper in the ones I'm currently using is no longer in production so sooner or later the Australian company is going to stop making them...)
- Most recent batch of amaretti (which I tricked myself into making by taking some egg white out of the freezer so it had thawed by the time the oven was on anyway) have come out perfectly - exactly the right balance of crunchy and chewy, of lemon and cyanide, etc.
- The persimmon is up to THREE grown-up leaves (though admittedly one of them is still only about a millimetre long).
- I have finished reading The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat, and it is in! the! charity! shop! pile! I do now definitely understand more of The Context for The Conversation about Case Studies, which I am glad of, and now I am going to go back to no longer extant ecosystems and primate archaeology.
- Have I mentioned that I really enjoy flicking through my ridiculous notebooks? I actually really enjoy flicking through my ridiculous notebooks. The Everything Is Blue And Neat is very pleasing to me. I am enjoying my ridiculous stationery hobbies, basically. 5.
