I looked at it dubiously while we were making it. I peered and prodded and went This Zabaglione Is Too Runny, It's Not Going To Work, Oh No, What Have We Done Wrong.

I almost managed to persuade myself it'd be fine once it had had 24h in the fridge?

But no. No it oozes everywhere gracelessly. It is still tasty and we're still going to eat all of it (and then we might have to make another one Just To Make Sure We Still Can...) but it is very very definitely: tiramisoup.

When I was a recently diagnosed coeliac, one of my friends tried to make a special gluten-free cake for me, to bring to a party. I say "tried" because it wasn't quite as structurally stable as she'd intended, and had to be eaten out of a bowl with a spoon. She was apologetic about that, but didn't really need to be, because it was delicious, and eating it with a spoon was not a hardship!

Someone suggested later that instead of apologising, she should have bounced up to me with a big grin and announced "I made you cakey goo – in a bowl!" as if it had been what she'd meant to do all along, and I wouldn't have known otherwise!
