This invites the use of inappropriate metaphors for differing mating strategies: wind pollination being the equivalent of junk mail, ologolectic bees being private couriers, duck penises being a special delivery service that jams a chainsaw in the letterbox, and the conceptual analogues of parcel post best left unexamined.

I'm sure there are animals whose mating strategy is analogous to 'leave the parcel on the doorstep, not caring particularly if it's the wrong person's doorstep, take a blurred photo as proof of delivery, and run away as fast as possible without even ringing the doorbell or otherwise letting the recipient know it's there'.
