• I am getting to beta-read for a lot of awesome friends writing awesome specfic at the moment, and it is great, and the poem I beta-read last month is now up on AO3 with accompanying podcast (The Fairest Of Them All, a retelling of Snow White)
  
• I left the house and went to a museum with rmc28 (also great, not least because we got to sit and chat and have OPINIONS about THINGS and it was fab)
  
• I got to watch my baby brother mess around with bikes for Awesome (Ex-)Housemate C this morning
  
• endless. figs.
  
• baby brother is running that half-marathon tomorrow morning; I am attempting to persuade my father that we want to go and cheer at the finishing line for him (I cannot get down there solo). They have as a group raised over £13000 (yes, thirteen thousand) for their charity of choice -- their initial goal was £6000. I am tears of pride every time I think about it.
  
• my mum gets back tomorrow, and I shall get her to show me the photographs she took from the top of that one mountain that's been [h/t]aunting us since we first went hiking together in 2008. I am very, very glad she made it to the top (and even more glad she made it back down!) not least because SHE WILL HELP ME EAT THE FIGS. (If you live in Cambridge and want figs, PLEASE COME AND TAKE SOME AWAY. I ate 6 yesterday and I am barely keeping up.)
  
• there's an excellent conversation going on over at jenett's; this week's salon theme is building relationships (not just the romantic)
  
• useful conversation with randomling
  
• some DW work - I've begun, as a result of this week's salon, to start sketching out some ideas of how to make it easier to begin volunteering in non-developer capacities
  
• ... and coincidentally, the post also brought $50 in gift cards. From DW. Because I submitted pull requests last month, and the bossen were running a bug bounty. So that was nice, but now I have to work out whether it's even possible to spend them in this country...
