kaberett: a patch of sunlight on the carpet, shaped like a slightly wonky heart (light hearted)

It's a love meme!

Because November is hard for lots of us, and in particular is something I find hard (my not-quite-month of mourning begins tomorrow, officially); because it's spring in the southern hemisphere and the days just keep getting shorter in the northern; because I talked to my counsellor yesterday about all of the shapes and forms that value takes.

Autumn crocuses growing through a carpet of sweet chestnut husks.

This post will close to new nominations at the end of the month (because November), though I'll keep unscreening comments after that point if any new ones do come in.

Love meme

♥ Nominate yourself or someone else, anonymously or logged-in, by putting your/their username in the subject line of a comment to this entry. If you do not know for certain the person's preferred pronouns and they do not list them on their DW profile, please use gender neutral pronouns as a default. Other people can then reply to that comment with goopy declarations of love, reasons that person is awesome, sparkly expressions of admiration, etc! All comments are screened, and I'll unscreen them as they arrive. (So, if your comment doesn't appear right away, please be patient; I'll leave my online status at the bottom of this post to keep people updated on whether I'm unscreening or not.)

♥ If you don't want to be nominated, or don't want comments referring to certain things [body/appearance, wrong pronouns, etc] to appear on your thread, please let me know; I won't unscreen any such comment or nomination. If I make a mistake in unscreening something, if you want a comment to your thread unscreened or deleted, if you have any concerns you need to raise -- please just tell me, and I'll attend to it as soon as I can. If there are any inappropriate comments made to a thread, I will check with the person being referred to before unscreening.

♥ Share the love: please do send people over here (and to your own thread!) Words-and-deeds it up if you like, but that's not obligatory!

♥ These guidelines are modeled on [personal profile] dingsi's love meme guidelines, with modifications by [personal profile] jjhunter and wording lifted from [personal profile] surpassingly.

♥ That's it -- happy posting!

Liv has some of the tastiest and sparkliest brains I know, and I love the honest and unapologetic passion they show for so many things.

Liv makes me think, and makes me smile. I always come away from any conversation with her, especially face-to-face, feeling like my life has been enriched. She also writes beautifully, and I mightily appreciate her posts on here. I am very glad to know her.

Liv has amazing extrovert energy and does so much with it, professionally and in her community and in her personal life. I am also continually impressed with her constant mindfulness of of ethical issues and extremely high standards for personal integrity, and am immensely fond of here for many many reasons, noteworthy among which is a nigh-inexhaustible capacity for enjoyable detailed analysis.

I've only read [personal profile] liv for a bit, but they are fascinating on any subject they talk about.

Liv is a wonderful friend as well as being a person of immense integrity and service to their community. They are incredibly compassionate and thoughtful and good at being patient and polite to people while also being clear about what they think is right and sticking to positions which they have thought through. Liv's energy and time and courtesy for responding to comments on their DW entries is really impressive, and also, the depth as well as breadth of the things they write is also impressive. I also enjoy how unabashed Liv is at showing enjoyment, enthusiasm and affection.

Pronouns: just about anything other than they, please? (People who already used they as a sensible default when you don't know, it's not a problem, just I can't quite twist my brain round thinking of myself as 'they'.) I'm most used to female or gender-neutral pronouns but not all bothered by male ones.

Liv is awesome and sparky and has the sort of brain that I can only stand in gobsmacked awe of. She plays a mean game of scrabble and generally is lovely.

I'm very glad to have discovered Liv's DW, because it's full of thoughtfulness and skill and care and the well-roundedness of a good life: sometimes tackling issues on a large scale, sometimes personal and diary-ish.

Liv is the only person on DW whose journal I go to directly every other day or so just to make sure I haven't missed anything, because every single post of hers is worth reading for me. She's one of the best writers I know of (I don't mean just of people I know, I mean in the world) because she's very skilled at explaining complicated exciting things in a way that makes them not difficult to understand (if I didn't know about them already) and reminds me of why they're so great and I love them so much (if I did). Her comments are my model for how to listen to people in a text medium. She makes my brain go *_*.

[personal profile] liv does all the things. She writes about Judaism and science and books and fannish-meta and it's all interesting and coherent and thoughtful.

She also connects to people, and talks, and works at staying in contact. Reaching out like this is such a good thing, but it takes time and energy and commitment, and I'm so glad someone is doing it.

Liv is full of cool ideas and information, and she took a big chunk out of her busy schedule to research a medical thing for me and help me understand it. We can have hour-long text conversations, when we can get the time zones to align suitably.

She also introduced me to caramelized onions as a pizza topping.

[personal profile] liv is a delight and I enjoy reading her thinky-thoughts on all the things, even if I rarely have time to comment.
