kaberett: a patch of sunlight on the carpet, shaped like a slightly wonky heart (light hearted)

It's a love meme!

Because November is hard for lots of us, and in particular is something I find hard (my not-quite-month of mourning begins tomorrow, officially); because it's spring in the southern hemisphere and the days just keep getting shorter in the northern; because I talked to my counsellor yesterday about all of the shapes and forms that value takes.

Autumn crocuses growing through a carpet of sweet chestnut husks.

This post will close to new nominations at the end of the month (because November), though I'll keep unscreening comments after that point if any new ones do come in.

Love meme

♥ Nominate yourself or someone else, anonymously or logged-in, by putting your/their username in the subject line of a comment to this entry. If you do not know for certain the person's preferred pronouns and they do not list them on their DW profile, please use gender neutral pronouns as a default. Other people can then reply to that comment with goopy declarations of love, reasons that person is awesome, sparkly expressions of admiration, etc! All comments are screened, and I'll unscreen them as they arrive. (So, if your comment doesn't appear right away, please be patient; I'll leave my online status at the bottom of this post to keep people updated on whether I'm unscreening or not.)

♥ If you don't want to be nominated, or don't want comments referring to certain things [body/appearance, wrong pronouns, etc] to appear on your thread, please let me know; I won't unscreen any such comment or nomination. If I make a mistake in unscreening something, if you want a comment to your thread unscreened or deleted, if you have any concerns you need to raise -- please just tell me, and I'll attend to it as soon as I can. If there are any inappropriate comments made to a thread, I will check with the person being referred to before unscreening.

♥ Share the love: please do send people over here (and to your own thread!) Words-and-deeds it up if you like, but that's not obligatory!

♥ These guidelines are modeled on [personal profile] dingsi's love meme guidelines, with modifications by [personal profile] jjhunter and wording lifted from [personal profile] surpassingly.

♥ That's it -- happy posting!

This, finding it tremendously helpful to watch all the brain-poking and see resonances with my own issues in the places we overlap.

Your poetry is lovely, and I adore the way you talk about rocks, and pretty much everything you write is interesting.

Making space for others to be imperfect is a really good and beautiful thing to do. Yay for you. :-)

So fucking true, and I really appreciate that. ♥

You are beautifully creative, lovely and remind me every now and then that there are other people out there who understand the brainwolves I have and get through the day, which helps me in ways I cannot verbalize.

I admire the way you're open about so much of the mental and physical health stuff. You give yourself credit for getting things done, and are aware of the systems and patterns you have created to make things work day-to-day.

Your poetry is wonderful and frequently resonates deeply. And I love that you make a safe space for others to be imperfect as well. It's so hard to find that. <3 <3

Can I just smother you with love? I love that you are you in all ways at all times and are uncompromising about it. I love that you are open to growth and sharing that with us. Also, thank you for providing a safe space for discussion. I almost never worry that some question I have is going to be "too weird". It feels to me that all honest inquiry is valid to you and I appreciate that so much. <3

Yes, you! I learn when you write, and I think, slowly, perhaps, your poetry is helping me feel more comfortable about possibly trying some of my own.

You are also forthright about so many things and imperfections that it helps remind me that imperfection is okay.

Because if I say that you are inspiration
that has nothing at all to do with disability or your mere survival
But rather, it is a reflection of every time that your foodposts
make the difference
between feeding myself properly, or not;
Of the bits of German that are one more reason
for me to keep trying to teach myself this language
that is half-alien and one-sixteenth familiar;
Of every time I compose a tada list in my head
instead of hating to-do lists;
Of the posts and the poetry that leave me chewing on thoughts
reconsidering/expanding
noticing things I would not have known to exist
knowing that this, too, is possible
knowing that I am not the only one
trying new things
spilling out words of my own.
There are people from whom I have things to learn, to live up to,
about how to live in the world, how to treat self and others with care -
you are one of these.
And if I say that you are inspiration
it is because
you make space
to breathe in.

Thank you for making space for other people to be imperfect too. It means a whole lot. And I'm very glad to have been getting to know you. (BTW, I have a card to send you. PM me with your address if you want it. I've been sorting old craft things, and found one that said "send this to Kaberett!")

What you said about making space to be imperfect. ♥ Also, I appreciate your words; I'm not yet back in a creative mind-space but the things that you write tend to rattle about in the back of my head, like they're waiting to grow into something else at a more appropriate time.

Something about your online presence makes it easy for me to say unpolished things (like "I have no words but I'm glad you wrote this"). I find much of your blog helpful: the todo/tada (which I'm still not capable of emulating but it's good for me to be exposed to), stuff about autism and what it's like for you, the way you show your thought process, so many things.

Plus it was great fun to meet you and chat with you...and I'm still ridiculously grateful for the smoked paprika. :)
