kaberett: a patch of sunlight on the carpet, shaped like a slightly wonky heart (light hearted)

It's a love meme!

Because November is hard for lots of us, and in particular is something I find hard (my not-quite-month of mourning begins tomorrow, officially); because it's spring in the southern hemisphere and the days just keep getting shorter in the northern; because I talked to my counsellor yesterday about all of the shapes and forms that value takes.

Autumn crocuses growing through a carpet of sweet chestnut husks.

This post will close to new nominations at the end of the month (because November), though I'll keep unscreening comments after that point if any new ones do come in.

Love meme

♥ Nominate yourself or someone else, anonymously or logged-in, by putting your/their username in the subject line of a comment to this entry. If you do not know for certain the person's preferred pronouns and they do not list them on their DW profile, please use gender neutral pronouns as a default. Other people can then reply to that comment with goopy declarations of love, reasons that person is awesome, sparkly expressions of admiration, etc! All comments are screened, and I'll unscreen them as they arrive. (So, if your comment doesn't appear right away, please be patient; I'll leave my online status at the bottom of this post to keep people updated on whether I'm unscreening or not.)

♥ If you don't want to be nominated, or don't want comments referring to certain things [body/appearance, wrong pronouns, etc] to appear on your thread, please let me know; I won't unscreen any such comment or nomination. If I make a mistake in unscreening something, if you want a comment to your thread unscreened or deleted, if you have any concerns you need to raise -- please just tell me, and I'll attend to it as soon as I can. If there are any inappropriate comments made to a thread, I will check with the person being referred to before unscreening.

♥ Share the love: please do send people over here (and to your own thread!) Words-and-deeds it up if you like, but that's not obligatory!

♥ These guidelines are modeled on [personal profile] dingsi's love meme guidelines, with modifications by [personal profile] jjhunter and wording lifted from [personal profile] surpassingly.

♥ That's it -- happy posting!

If I do it this way, I get to see the comments, which is much better. Even if it fits mean having to deal with weasels that suggest fast self-nomination is only because there's nobody else who would do it for me. It's complex, at times, my relationship with praise.

My preferred pronouns are they/them, please.

I also have this form of Impostor Syndrome, and I admire your bravery in overcoming it. You always have such wise and kind words to say, especially when I'm floundering, and I'm always cheered when I see you've commented on something because of that. Thank you. ♥

I have that too, it's okay. You aren't alone.

And you never make me feel I'm alone. You are a safe space and a blessing. You make my head seem less scary and I treasure the friendship I have with you. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for being in my life and following me and being a genuinely amazing creature.

Many of us, including me, enjoy your librarian's skill being applied to finding interesting news from all over the world and interpreting it with your own thoughtful commentary.

You're also very supportive of people and offer good advice.

You are kind and gracious and supportive to the people around you to an extent I've known very few people to match. Any time something's wrong, you seem to turn out, and I can't say how touching that is and how grateful I am for it.

You're also just plain interesting, and I like seeing what you have to add to discussions.

You give me lots to think about, and it's great to have someone agree with me that buying a house is not an unalloyed good thing!

I admire your ability to curate news posts and comment on them. I wish I had the same energy or capacity, sometimes.

And I appreciate your words of kindness, always ♥

Your work with the Pern deconstructions is marvelous and you always have a helpful word for me.

(My opinion is actually that self-nomination for love memes is the best way because it's saying "I am worthy of love". FWIW.)

Seconding what [personal profile] alexseanchai said about the Pern deconstructions. They're really incredible. And it's not just that they're well-crafted. Every little issue I had that just gave me the feeling that something was a bit off about the characters or the world, you've analysed just about to death. And that might seem insignificant, but consider that most of that is stripping the charming veneer from abusers and rapists and suddenly it becomes a public service. With cocowhats. Because all the best kinds of public service involve horrified coconuts.
