Because November is hard for lots of us, and in particular is something I find hard (my not-quite-month of mourning begins tomorrow, officially); because it's spring in the southern hemisphere and the days just keep getting shorter in the northern; because I talked to my counsellor yesterday about all of the shapes and forms that value takes.

ewt is an absolutely super person, and one of my few regrets about leaving London is not getting to see her as often!

She is kind, brilliant, immensely thoughtful, and utterly, *utterly* delightful. Spending time with her always leaves me feeling more alive, and more happy to be alive, and reading blog posts and so forth by her always makes me think, and often leaves me inspired, energised, determined and/or comforted.

She is also a stunning musician, and has a glorious taste in Easter bonnets. :-)

You write about nifty and interesting things, and especially you write about living in a way I find very thought-encouraging.

This past August you were very kind to me on a particularly stressful day.

You are thoughtful of others even when you're hurting. You treasure good memories and good people. And it is a great goodness to be reading the things you write, as you unfold what you're thinking about, because you think thoroughly.

zarhooie is lively, and a hoot and a half!

boxofdelights gave me guest-shelter on a very long trip once, and it was one of the most lyrical and contemplative stops on the whole expedition. I still think of it every now and then with gratitude.

(very, very late to the party; here from a staranise link) I'm a she.

She is so much *wittier* and better educated than I am, and so funny. I'm always glad to see her pop up in my (or a friend's) comments.

I've had the privilege of watching her grow up, from a person who was unbelievably smart and articulate for her age to.. somebody who's just plain unbelievably smart and articulate. I love watching her squee about things; I love squeeing *with* her about the things we have in common. I was astonished to discover (I should have guessed, but I didn't) that she wrote fic; I wasn't at all surprised that it was good.

I'm very glad there's a Holli.

I am awed by staranise's strength and compassion. Strength doesn't mean that you aren't in pain, doesn't mean that you aren't broken; it means that somehow, despite the pain and brokenness, you continue to act. Staranise is kind and brave and insightful and I'm very glad to know her.
