kaberett: a patch of sunlight on the carpet, shaped like a slightly wonky heart (light hearted)

It's a love meme!

Because November is hard for lots of us, and in particular is something I find hard (my not-quite-month of mourning begins tomorrow, officially); because it's spring in the southern hemisphere and the days just keep getting shorter in the northern; because I talked to my counsellor yesterday about all of the shapes and forms that value takes.

Autumn crocuses growing through a carpet of sweet chestnut husks.

This post will close to new nominations at the end of the month (because November), though I'll keep unscreening comments after that point if any new ones do come in.

Love meme

♥ Nominate yourself or someone else, anonymously or logged-in, by putting your/their username in the subject line of a comment to this entry. If you do not know for certain the person's preferred pronouns and they do not list them on their DW profile, please use gender neutral pronouns as a default. Other people can then reply to that comment with goopy declarations of love, reasons that person is awesome, sparkly expressions of admiration, etc! All comments are screened, and I'll unscreen them as they arrive. (So, if your comment doesn't appear right away, please be patient; I'll leave my online status at the bottom of this post to keep people updated on whether I'm unscreening or not.)

♥ If you don't want to be nominated, or don't want comments referring to certain things [body/appearance, wrong pronouns, etc] to appear on your thread, please let me know; I won't unscreen any such comment or nomination. If I make a mistake in unscreening something, if you want a comment to your thread unscreened or deleted, if you have any concerns you need to raise -- please just tell me, and I'll attend to it as soon as I can. If there are any inappropriate comments made to a thread, I will check with the person being referred to before unscreening.

♥ Share the love: please do send people over here (and to your own thread!) Words-and-deeds it up if you like, but that's not obligatory!

♥ These guidelines are modeled on [personal profile] dingsi's love meme guidelines, with modifications by [personal profile] jjhunter and wording lifted from [personal profile] surpassingly.

♥ That's it -- happy posting!

You are witty, and brilliant, and most importantly you are kind, and are thoughtful and intentional about how you interact with people.

There are some people who just have a very happymaking online presence and I've always found you one of those people. ♥ I really like getting comments from you.

You are so v. generous w/your self & your thoughts & your time, & I admire greatly how open & forthright you are about difficult things, & how doggedly determined you are. & how you keep finding beautiful things in the world, & in people.

You have such an interesting, smart mind; I don't comment v. often on your posts but I really like the way you talk about things, & the thoughtful, caring way in which you do so, & I appreciate both the energy & heart you've put into... fannish organizations, & the way you prioritized self-care to step back when you needed to. <333

I've very much valued our friendship for the past few years! They listen to what's going on - with the country, with the world, with friends, with me. A comment or tweet from them makes my day because it says that I'm seen and heard, and they often have something kind and encouraging to say. We've had lots of laughs! They protest in the ways they can, and it encourages me to do the same.

I like your origami posts, and your Vanyel icon, and the way you posted about the lead-up to your wedding.

Just wanted to say how great you are. :) I love your stories about your work, your thoughtful and articulate activism, your willingness to drive me places, the huge amounts of kindness and generosity you've shown me. Especially now that I've joined the ranks of home owners (albeit kicking and screaming!); I'd have gone mad if not for your support and solidarity and help on both practical and emotional fronts.

Something about your online presence makes it easy for me to say unpolished things (like "I have no words but I'm glad you wrote this"). I find much of your blog helpful: the todo/tada (which I'm still not capable of emulating but it's good for me to be exposed to), stuff about autism and what it's like for you, the way you show your thought process, so many things.

Plus it was great fun to meet you and chat with you...and I'm still ridiculously grateful for the smoked paprika. :)

I'm very glad to have discovered Liv's DW, because it's full of thoughtfulness and skill and care and the well-roundedness of a good life: sometimes tackling issues on a large scale, sometimes personal and diary-ish.

I'm glad you self-nominated! I'm also glad we got to hang out recently & have an ~adventure~ (& still experience some good music, if not entirely all the good music I had planned on...). I'm also in awe of how many things you do, how many projects you take on, how much of your heart you give to things/organizations/people.

One of the infinitesimally small group of people from my secondary school that I would still stop to talk to on the street, and not-coincidentally also one of most thoroughly decent human beings I have ever known. I like spending time with them (both online and in person) because they regularly inspire me to be a better person while not making me feel shamed/small/inferior about the person that I currently am.

They are also snarky and funny and extremely nerdy-cool, and have had consistently adorable pets throughout most of the time I've known them :)

M's fic is thoughtful and deep-diving; her characters jump off the page and into the reader's head.

Her personal posts are equally enlightening and deep, with lessons shared to help others.

Glorious glittery firework of a human being whose presence in my life has fortunately lasted much longer than most pyrotechnics manage. The only person in the world who has voluntarily shared a house with me on repeated occasions, and we've hardly killed each other at all.

It would be both slightly misleading and saddening to refer to them as the Tara to my Willow, so I'll stick with calling them the Nanny Ogg to my Granny Weatherwax -- I'm not sure there's any higher compliment in the world than that.
