My letter specifically pulls my MP up on his comprehensive failure to respond to my previous e-mail to him so will be of limited use, but just in case:
Dear [MP],
I was disappointed to receive no response to my previous correspondence (dated 05/12/16) [] on the topic of the UN enquiry into the rights of disabled people in the UK[1]. In said letter I provided several references to studies produced by respected bodies corroborating the UN's findings that the UK government was -- and is -- committing in grave and systematic violations of the rights of disabled people.
I brought to your attention the eleven recommendations made by the report, and emphasised that as your constituent, I hoped that you would support implementation of these recommendations. I indicated clearly that I hoped to hear from you regarding your intentions on this topic.
I now wish to bring to your attention a briefing and discussion occurring at the Houses of Parliament tomorrow afternoon. The details are as follows:
Grave and systematic violations – What next after the UN disability inquiry? Briefing and Discussion
Committee Room 12, Houses of Parliament
2.30 – 3.45pm Tuesday 24th January 2017
Please let me know whether you attend, and please also let me know what action, if any, you intend to take with respect to the eleven UN recommendations.
Yours sincerely,
[me]
