ten good things
- Today's date & walnut bread turned out v tasty and particularly texturally Good, and I very much enjoyed it still-warm-from-the-oven with some of the blood orange jam.
- At the allotment: more beans are coming up, and the first batch hasn't been entirely consumed by gastropods or indeed birds!
- The strawberries are starting to flower!
- Adam turned some of the pallets I've had sitting around for [mumble] into edging for a bed!
- When we got home from the allotment I made some Big Glasses Of Raspberry Lemonade, using raspberry & lemon cordial, and frozen raspberries, and angry water, and some sprigs of the mint that are finally (finally!) properly racing away.
- For the first time this year, it's been warm enough on a day when I don't have a migraine to have the patio doors open for most of the evening.
- I have got as far as the Quenta Silmarillion, again, on this attempted reread, but this time I have a FANCY NOTEBOOK (arrived last week) and am making notes with PRETTY COLOURS OF INK and also, crucially, pages that I can rearrange at will, which might help me get less stuck about how much space to leave myself... (I have NO LIBRARY BOOKS DUE FOR TWO WEEKS. Let's see how this goes. :-p)
- We saw TWO BATS again this evening, and also I have learned that the bat that shows up after the common pipistrelles might be a Leisler's bat, not a noctule. Now I get to look forward to trying to listen to it again. :)
- Freegle provided some more mixing blades for my breadmaker; I'm not using it much at the moment but I didn't actually have a standard blade that hadn't at some point been attacked by a bread knife, and I'd been vaguely intending to get around to buying one maybe, so this suits me just fine!
- The Flight Rising Coliseum has been very obliging today in terms of disgorging pixel friends for my pixel dragons, and it has made for a pleasant end to the evening.
