Yes please.

Lots of things seem scary, lots of people I love feel fragile. I lost my religious faith and most of my belief in people's inherent goodness - the thing I cling to is a belief that we will do best by spreading kindness as widely as possible. (Spreading kindness is not incompatible with rage, anger and grief.)

You are an awesome metamour. You are thoughtful and wise and passionate. And you keep showing up and doing good things.

I approve of anyone who works on spreading kindness. ♥

Your generosity had done me so much good, from driving my rubbish to the tip to helping me navigate life as a somewhat-reluctant homeowner. We've spent so much good time together, it means a lot to me.

Today in therapy I talked about trying to fit meaningful self-care in around... everything, and whether hosting a love meme and an open house was *actually* a good idea for me. And I came to the conclusion that, yes: because it underscores and reinforces that people choose to be kind to one another, to look after one another, to seek to see the good, and it might be work but it's work that will reaffirm things I desperately need right now.

I'm not convinced about inherent goodness of people (

sebastienne keeps reminding me, through the choices they make, to extend good faith more frequently) -- but I am convinced that people can choose goodness, and that there's a lot of space to build on in that potential.

I'm sorry things are so hard. I see you.

the lastest photo of Amelie getting along with the other cats. Lily is trying her darnedest with "you should snuggle me and then we will be friends and then you will wash my ears". Amelie totally smelled her ear and it was progress, even though when Lily looked at her she got scared and hissed. (Lily then went back to sleep and Amelie did not run away, so this is GOOD.)

I see you're nearly due to donate blood again. (Heading for your four-gallon pin? Impressive. I have a one-gallon certificate, though I think lifetime I might be over two gallons by now, it's just that not all of it was donated in this state so this state hasn't record of it all. idk for sure, though, I lost count altogether.)

This is a thing I do not do as often as I should because it never fails to screw up the whole rest of my day and sometimes the next day too, but it is a fantastic thing to do! Way to go, literal lifesaver!

As far as the tally goes, if your donations were through the Red Cross, they should be able to pull up a history of your prior donations regardless of location. Mine have all been within the same state, though not the same town or county, so I could be entirely wrong about their ability to pull records nationally... but it would make complete sense if they could. I have zero familiarity with other organizations and how they do things record keeping-wise, I'm afraid.

I'm sorry donation has a tendency to foul up the rest of the day for you, though. :(
