You take my favorite things and put them into books, and part of that is because you infuse them in your life. I really do wish good things for you, and hope things go easier for you in all ways.

Your medical advocacy is one of the reasons I'm not a gibbering, screaming, crying mess. Or worse.

I like spending time with you. I appreciate the way you identify things about your life which you don't know enough about to make an informed decision, and then go about getting the information you need.

Thank you for helping save my partner's ass.

Thank you for your part in helping save my partner's ass. The emotional labor, the flagging up things in all directions, the patient listening, the research... all of it. As my partner played a vital role in my health, so you played -- and continue to play -- a vital role in my partner's well-being.

You write beautifully and intelligently. You are one of the few authors I know qualified to illustrate their own characters. You are a pleasure to talk with and while your estimation of your own talents is several orders of magnitude below the reality, you are still capable of writing music that sticks in my head. You give excellent running commentary of life with Cloud. I consider you essential.

You have an amazing talent for making the quotidian significant. I always enjoy and very often learn from your journalling about your normal life, what you think about and what you notice. Also every time you comment on my journal it's enlightening and informative and kind.

And I admire how well you love everybody you love. You sometimes have to invent new categories for the people you support and uphold consistently, with so much investment and care.

Specific deed: you said something really moving to me on a recent love meme and it's been buoying me up whenever I might be struggling.

You are organized, caring, precise, measured, and very, very clear about what exists in your life, and why. I appreciate your boundaries, your thinking, and the mixture of the two.

Also, your kid is cute.

I love this idea. I love that you shared it with us, too.

I love your enthusiasm over shows, and how you share that with us, getting us excited about them too. You develop meta, you make vids, you post fic recs.

I think that's just awesome, and I'm glad I know you

I am so in awe of you!

You write so well (and make it look so effortless!) and you are an amazing artist and you are self-motivated enough to do these huge, sweeping, amazing projects that make my jaw drop.

Besides that, you're fun to hang out with (and I don't say that lightly, because I'm not a fan of 'hanging out') and have really great ideas. (Like ornaments! Which has been more fun than I ever thought it could be!)

Over the years that I've followed your journal in various fandoms you've changed my outlook on writing. From both practical standpoint of writing tips and later with your encouragement, I've made changes that make me a more productive writer. And I'm forever grateful for this.

Besides that, you're so fun to talk to about ALL the things! :)

I've read your stories/LJ/DW since I first discovered SGA stories by Friendshipper. "Running on Empty" is still one of my all-time faves; it is breath-takingly engrossing, and the way John and Rodney each use the memory of the other (however faint and fractured it may be) speaks to the deep friendship each feels for the other. Not to say I don't thoroughly enjoy your other stories -- I just lost half an hour in "Night Ops" because it caught my eye when I looked in your fic folder -- but RoE is my comfort-giving "old friend" story. (I've been a re-reader from childhood. Good stories shouldn't be read once and tossed away forever.)

When you mentioned your professional writing, I checked them out, and bought several. I thoroughly enjoyed your writing in the books I've read; others are still waiting on my Kindle. As much as I appreciate books (e- or paper), fanfic is my go-to escape; I like reading variations on the characters I already know. It's authors like you that make fanfic so worthwhile, and I'm certainly glad that you share your talent with us. Thank you.

I love your fandom meta and squee - where you get into details about what works - and what doesn't - and is a real treat to read, even when not in the fandom. Also is a wonderful artist - who doesn't give herself enough credit :)

I've somewhat disappeared from IRC, and I should do something about that, but I always appreciate talking to you. You have such an original perspective on the world, through your intelligence and independence of thought applied to an unusual set of experiences. And you're really really good at explaining new ideas to other people. Thank you for expanding my mental toolbox.

Thank you so much for your infectious enthusiasm over the Shadows of the Apt books! Because of you, I have been devouring them like crazy, and have the last three sitting right here next to me!

Also, thank you for that Bucky story where where he works with Pepper on the rooftop garden. I don't remember the name of it, but I recommended it to a friend just last week. It's an all-time favorite.
