You know, I hadn't thought about it in exactly those words, but you really do make things seem more possible: by thinking them through, by examining the outcomes, by writing about it all. I probably can't top that.

Thank you.

You were by far the best line manager/boss that I have ever had. While that might seem like a relatively small sample because I've spent so much time self-employed, I've also been working at one job or another since I was 11, so we're talking about 25 years and several bosses, here.

Working with you was the first time I've felt that if I thought of something that would make my job easier I could ask for it and you'd do what you could. (And because you asked at the beginning and made sure I had the accommodations I needed in place, I didn't end up having to ask.)

Doing that while also remaining friends is truly awesome.

You're beautiful and smart, and I love the way you use that intelligence to find things out, share them with other people, and help us make connections.

Also your tenacity in dealing with Stuff You Have Been Dealt has encouraged me to take some of my own Stuff more seriously and to treat myself with more compassion. Thank you for that, too.

I love how you look at things, figure out what makes them fit or not fit.

(People tell me I write stuff that helps them make sense of the world. You're one of the people I read whose posts do that for me, reliably, and often about stuff I know less about, so it's even better.)
