half-arsed tomato soup

  • 500ml tomato passata (seems to be the cheapest way to get tomato product in general)
  • 1stp stock powder of some description
  • some lovage (... no idea where you get it in this country that isn't "my mum's back garden")
  • a bit of water (let it out as much as you like)

Dump everything in saucepan and bring to boil (~5min). Eat with carbohydrate. FOOD.

I used Asda Just For You chopped tomatoes, which were mostly skin and pip free, one 385ml box, filled the box over with water (probably too much), added some dried herbs, garlic powder and some gravy granules as the closest I could find to stock (limitations of the man-cave kitchen), ate it with some French bread that was old enough it was either croutons or the birds.

Not brilliant, slight taste of being overcooked or something, but still perfectly edible. Would have been better for whizzing the tomatoes through a blender as it managed to be both too chunky and too watery simultaneously!
