Basement status update
It is 26.5degC down here -- but the very expensive vacuum leak is behaving itself (touch wood...) :-)
eta om nom nom okay I now know that I can turn one freezer-box of chilli plus one freezer-pack of tortillas plus one small pan of rice into four burritos, two for 11pm dinner and two for subsequent-day lunch. This is BEST basement-lunch (they say, yearning for a satsuma). Oh, and the temperature's dropped back down to 25.7degC...

That sounds... pleasant? But perhaps not as pleasant indoors. (Also, I get cold easily, so.)

But I get cold easily too. (So I do spend most of the year miserable in Manchester, but I probably sound unsympathetic these couple of months when I find it bearable.)

I promise I will tell you if you say a thing in a way that rubs me up wrong, but honestly I can't really envisage that happening. (& I will do my best to respond appropriately & kindly if you need/want to tell me similar!)

And I know if I'm eg in any physical discomfort or working a lot, I'm way more likely to not have a sense of humor about stuff that I otherwise might. So that's another reason I'm cautious.
