Throughout the trailer, though, it was odd how much time the camera spent gazing at parts of people's bodies other than their faces while they were talking. As someone who had to learn how to make appropriate eye contact the hard way, I felt as though I was being really rude!
I love your voice - is that weird? I'd like to listen to you speak just because your voice is lovely. :D
Otoh, the way the camera could NOT focus on a person's face is not only hugely distracting, it draws attention where the speakers might not be comfortable with, which kinda made me feel a bit uncomfortable.
Also, it's insanely hard to tell what everyone was saying because I can't read off-camera lips (haha, obviously) and the video had no CC.
...ha. First viewing I totally missed that it was you, just saw it as a link to "hey a thing on trans people that includes a disabled person". I r smrt. :D
I like getting to see/hear you, since I'm not likely to do so IRL for a long time, and I was happy that the video included your explanation about authenticity vs. being a "good little cripple" and that bullshit.
Fetishizing of wheelchair totally problematic, though, and I can understand even aside from that that it would be weird to surprise! be on Buzzfeed.
