[stationery] oh no i'm talking myself into getting Another notebook
(This is a terrible hobby.)
Specifically, I am Seriously Contemplating the merits of something in a Traveler's Notebook format. Not from Traveler's Company themselves, because why would I do that when I could get it in (... discount...) teal, but.
Anticipated uses for Multiple Inserts:
- long-term reference notes for Admin: the LRP, and possibly also my packing lists for same
- setting myself up to have a Dedicated Poetry Space again to see if that nudges me into writing a bit more, maybe???
- one notebook per medical condition, so that I wind up with long-term What Happened In Which Appointment notes all in one place instead of spread across annual notebooks
- maybe allotment records ditto???
Current notebook line-up, because I like reading about other people's...
- A5 hardcover notebook I am using as bullet journal and catch-all (in a leather cover, with a variety of writing implements and misc stationery): this is where everything goes in the first instance. It is where I do all my migraine tracking and my Pilates tracking and my physio tracking in addition to birthday reminders/todo lists/daily gratitude practice/list of BOOKS I SERIOUSLY NEED TO READ SO I CAN GET THEM OUT OF THE HOUSE/keeping a record of how far through each TV series we're working on we've got i.e. what is the next episode/notes for vital functions posts/monthly and annual reviews/etc etc etc.
- A5 discbound notebook: currently contains notes on the Silmarillion; notes on three or four different computer games including our Heaven's Vault dictionary (each length of word gets its own page, and if I need another one I can move another one in); some notes on languages and grammar ditto; and I have just set up another section and started using it to have a bash at working out what I even want to say in the Essays On Pain (working titles "On pain; of pain").
- A6 discbound notebook: ADDRESS BOOK that I get to keep in ACTUAL ALPHABETICAL ORDER; sowing calendar (one page per month, move the previous month to the back so when you open at the divider you always have The Current Month at the front).
Basically everything I am contemplating moving comes out of the main bullet journal, or at least gets migrated there having gone into my dailies -- crucially medical wrangling but also packing lists/Empire notes, and potentially allotment. Dedicated Poetry Space would be something I do not currently have and would like to reintroduce, but I'm not actually convinced that the Traveler's Notebook format is what I want for that? It extremely arguably is for LRP/medical/etc purposes though -- the endometriosis insert goes in when I'm heading to endometriosis-related appointments and stays on a shelf when I'm not, the LRP similarly, ...
So. Yes. Contemplating.
