Reading. I have FINISHED October Daye (at least until the next Patreon short comes out). I continue overall frustrated about how much better it could be given slightly less Rule-Of-Cool continuity fuckery.

Chapter 9 of Digger. Continues very pleasing. :)

System Collapse, Martha Wells. The trouble with having inhaled this is that... I have once again Run Out Of Murderbot :( Is there another reread on my horizon? PERHAPS.

Atomic Habits, James Clear (in progress). So the deal with this, right, is that it has a... somewhat evangelical... following that intersects with the bujo crowd. (I have since discovered that it is also several months' wait to borrow from the library in ebook even though there are 17 copies of it in circulation, which is Quite Something.) It was not a great surprise to me to find my baby brother (who is A Climber Dude) had a copy; it was not a great surprise that he was casually dismissive of it as, approximately, "all pretty obvious really"; I was somewhat surprised to get handed it and told it was my problem now (he was in the process of downsizing). So now I'm reading it, and then it can (almost certainly) go to a charity shop. So far: I disagree with his working definition of "goal", and I'd be more impressed by his actually having given a clear definition and a reasoning for that definition if he hadn't... slipped promptly into using it the sensible way instead. Kudos to him for checking his facts, though!

Cooking. Quince Dorset apple cake, with 50/50 quince and apple, plus ground hazelnut substituted for 50g of the flour. Extremely good, esp. with Chantilly cream.

Other than that everything has been Drying Apples.

Making & mending. I have cut patches to size for two sets of trousers that need repairing; I have made a start on sewing a patch to a cap for A.

Growing. Latest rosemary cuttings do not appear to have just keeled over dead! 100g of ripe poblano chillis harvested and dried (and gosh was THAT a learning experience). Furkled seven bags of oak leaves.

Observing. Lovely pale blue and cream and white sunset as backdrop to bare branches on Friday. Excellent crescent moon.

I enjoyed the new Murderbot, I only had one quibble about how it could have been a little less packed-feeling.
