staranise writes with open-eyed clarity and empathy about some very difficult subjects, she thinks and explains and educates, and I am learning about myself and about other people from her journal. She deserves all the love and fuss and hugs and happy in the world, and I just wish I could give some of it.  She also has a tumblr which is mix of fannishness and cats and general awesome and I look at it when I need a little happy.  There is also a warm-hearted Emily-cat, and staranise builds castles for Emily.
