kaberett: a patch of sunlight on the carpet, shaped like a slightly wonky heart (light hearted)

So much of school and of university was, for me, about learning that learning in public was unacceptable, and making mistakes in public was unacceptable, to the point that I was heartily congratulated by the professor running a practical at one point when I went up to a demonstrator and said "I need help. I don't understand this exercise." "Okay, what don't you understand?" "Any of it."

So -- yes, it is hugely valuable, and you are an all-round good thing, and -- thank you. For everything. I am so glad you liked your introduction, and so glad that you invented this meme, because as is probably obvious to you a lot of other people are getting things out of it too (not just the ones who comment to say thank you -- I've also been getting IMs & e-mails of gratitude, so -- again, thank you for making the world a better place).
