On a related note if you are regular pushing someone else's wheelchair then you aslo need gloves or similar (i wear my wrist protectors "the wrong way round" so there is padding on my palms. Dad wears his cycling gloves)

This is an awesomely comprehensive list which i shall refer back to as and when necessary. Mum's needs are very different to yours because she doesn't self-propell but i'm guessing the points about cushions etc will be useful. (Grump about the Wheelchair service - they assess the chair-user but not their regular pushers. Mum's handles are too low for both me and Dad but apprently adjustable-height handles are not a thing!)
