Watching. Good Omens S01E02 + E03. (It is also pleasant to be doing this in a context of violently disagreeing with a tumblr post about what fountain pens Aziraphale and Crowley would use, because fandom is wonderful, where obviously the ways in which I disagree are inflected by whether we're talking about them in their book or show incarnations...)

Eating. Proximately the thing I am most baffled by, though not in an unpleasant way, is the curry I had this evening from Kasturi: I had not previously come across tenga meeta ("cooked with fresh mango, chef special blend of spices, herbs, fresh onion, garlic, and a touch of sour sauce"), and had not expected it to taste the way boiling blackberry jelly does, or indeed the way blackberry and apple crumble does. I am probably not interested enough in which specific aromatic/volatile compound it is that's pinging that so strongly for me, but it Really Did.

Growing. so! many! things! Un-growing first: pruned cherry; cleared out a bunch of raspberry deadwood from its underbrush and also cut back the summer canes that had fruited; actually dug up and removed (from the soil, at any rate) another square foot of carpet. Oh, and lost my first tomato plant to late blight, I think -- I'm still not especially confident about identifying it in the early stages, but that's one Blue Fire plant Gone and I shall hope they're just particularly susceptible and the rest of the bed will survive.

I have also been harvesting tomatoes and French beans and physalis, and admiring my peppers and aubergines and winter squash various, and poking grumpily at my failure to get any viable fennel germinated (yet -- the first batch made it to true leaves before Suffering the Depredations of the Gastropods).
