[growth] progress!

a view of an allotment, with weeded and partially-weeded beds actually visible

Downside: waist-high grass (around plants I actually care about so I can't just hoe the whole lot). Upside: despite the London clay, the raised beds have sufficiently loose soil that it's actually fairly quick to hand-weed them.

So far I have excavated a lot of allium (on the left, with a Comedy Onion just about visible at full zoom), in the process creating space for some fennel to go in; the front half of the bed in which I had root veg this year (with two more beetroot extracted for our dinner tonight); and a lot of red ants.

I have also applied the azada elsewhere, including in the fruit cage behind the greenhouse. So. Progress!
