I had instrument time booked, yesterday and today; I'd budgeted the energy for it.

The autosampler's broken, though, so while the rest of the machine's working just fine there's no adequate way to actually get sample solution introduced, and so instead I've been at home.

Meanwhile, in another part of the academic forest, I sent the latest round of edits to my supervisor Sunday last; she'd been hoping to get them turned around & back to me by the end of Monday, but she's been slammed so that hasn't happened.

In theory I could have been using the time and energy to do background reading, or maybe start throwing desultory words at the thesis introduction or even possibly chapter 3, but in fact what I've done is (1) reply to some social e-mails (!), (2) make a lot of phone calls, and (3) write a complaint letter, many of which I'd been putting off for Some Time and some of which are New And Exciting (at least to me, and I will provide details tomorrow one way or another but I don't want to jinx It).

Because, hey, words-brain is words-brain is words-brain, apparently, and I had some lined up, and -- well. ( DWP. )
